Have you ever thought about the legacy you are leaving behind? Perhaps you have thought about providing a future for orangutans by leaving a gift in your Will? By making a bequest to Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Australia you will be helping secure a safer future for orangutans. Every gift is greatly appreciated.
Gift received from bequests will be directed into areas such as the rescue and rehabilitation of threatened orangutans and the acquisition of suitable habitat for their eventual release.
“My gift will help BOS achieve the things I can’t do” – P.Harris, WA
Wording your bequest
Following are two suggested options for wording your bequest.
1. Proportion of your estate
Leaving a proportion of your estate means that your gift will not be affected by fluctuations in the size of your estate. Alternatively, you could specify a fixed dollar amount.
“I give and bequeath (free of all duties) …..% of my estate to Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Australia Inc in aid of that charity and for its general purposes, with the written acknowledgement of Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Australia Inc to be accepted by my executors as a full and complete discharge.”
2. Residue of your estate
It is important to include a residuary clause in your Will, in order to dispose of any assets not otherwise mentioned.
“I give and bequeath (free of all duties) the rest and residue of my estate to Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Australia Inc, in aid of that charity and for its general purposes, with the written acknowledgement of Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Australia Inc to be accepted by my executors as a full and complete discharge.”

How Can You Help
There are lots of ways you can support orangutans and help ensure the survival of this precious ape.
Adopt an Orangutan
Orangutans are endangered and at risk of extinction. Habitat destruction means hundreds of orphan orangutans need to care for every year. You can help by adopting one. Their dedicated ‘nannies’ teach them everything they need to know for when it’s time to release them back to the wild. You can follow their progress through Forest School.
Make a Donation
Please help the Orangutans in their struggle for survival. Your donation is important and goes directly to BOS Indonesia.
By donating, you are helping bring this noble yet endangered species back from the brink of extinction and on a path to freedom – from rescue to rehabilitation and release.
