A little about Mozzy (Moz)
Mozzy, our pride and joy, died on the 1st of May. He was just three months old. An autopsy showed that he probably died form broncopneumonia or because of a heart deformity… or both. It came rather suddenly and as a big shock to all of us because we are not used to our infants dying. We all cried for Mozzy for a long time… we loved him so much. Mozzy is our newest addition to the baby school. He was born on the 13th of January in Pontianak Zoo and weighed only 1,3 kg. His mother didn’t even give him a second look before she threw him in the corner of the filthy cage. Fortunately the head of the zoo was quick and retrieved the tiny newborn, cut the umbilical cord and tied it up properly. He cared for Mozzy for almost a month before we were able to pick him up. Mozzy was looking great and weighed 2 kg when he arrived in Nyaru Menteng on his one-month birthday. We had hand carried him by plane from Pontianak to Jakarta, slept a night in a hotel before our connection to Palangka Raya all which Mozzy took in great stride. There is not much to say about his personality yet, as he is still just a sweet wobbly uncoordinated infant with kicking arms and legs, who still is having difficulty focusing his eyes, looks deadly serious when he is dirtying his pampers, cries when he wants milk and produces some great burps afterwards… just like any human infant.
