After ten years, the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation has released 29 of its rescued and rehabilitated orangutans into protected forests in Borneo.

The orangutans have been attending ‘forest school’ to learn how to survive in the wild.

It’s a world first and a big step towards saving this endangered species by dedicated Indonesians.

To ensure their safety, specially trained ‘guardians’ keep a watchful eye on the ‘graduates’.

More releases are expected at the end of this year and the next.
