BOS Australia promotes a vegan lifestyle
As an orangutan conservation organisation, we are deeply committed to protecting orangutans and working towards saving them from the brink of extinction. However, our dedication extends beyond the well-being of our red cousins. We consider ourselves as advocates for all animals and strive for a world where they do not have to suffer. Therefore, we promote a vegan lifestyle that does not harm animals or contribute to deforestation, climate change and the pollution of rivers and oceans.

Definition of ‘veganism’
“Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.”

There are lots of ways you can support orangutans and help ensure the survival of this precious ape.
Adopt an Orangutan
Orangutans are endangered and at risk of extinction. Habitat destruction results in hundreds of orphaned orangutans, who rely on our care every year. You can help by adopting one. Their dedicated ‘nannies’ teach them everything they need to know for when it’s time to release them back to the wild. You can follow their progress through Forest School.
