Today is Jelapat's rescue anniversary.

The now 10-year-old was rescued nine years ago after being kept as a pet for months in a tiny cage on the side of a busy road, dressed in baby clothing.

Once in the care of the BOS Foundation, the little male orangutan showed remarkable resilience. Jelapat graduated #forestschoolchool with flying colours, became a star in the award-winning documentary se#OrangutanJungleSchoolchool, and is now on a pre-release island— just one step away from freedom.
